The entire family (well, almost) was into beading this holiday season. Several items were created, and now I am into it, at least mentally. If you like jewelry, and can appreciate the unique and the precious-because-it-is-rare, you can have endless treats, since the sky is the limit where raw materials for jewelry go.

One has worn rock and stone, bone and wood, plastic and metal, precious and not so precious, even feathers. But porcupine quills??

I chanced upon a beautiful, simply made necklace using natural porcupine quill beads and black round beads, and hence started researching porcupine quills. That will probably be our next project.
